{Bribes}

Every once in a while a session finally has to resort to it.  Mommy will buy you a toy, or Marie will give you a lollipop.  Poor Kennedy just wanted to be photographed in her "Little Miss Chatterbox" tee . See image below.

Her mom had an abundance of ridiculously fantastic clothes to wear which would have matched my little downtown urban motif so well.  But the blue t-shirt was winning.  We were finally able to get her in the tutu and outside for a few.  It was worth it!!

Her baby sister was just a bundle of smiles and a little crawling machine.  All of my recent six month olds have just skipped sitting up and started crawling.  It's pretty amazing.  I want to know what mom's are feeding their kids these days.  We played with reflections a little today, and check out the result!!

{Drew- a silly boy}

I photographed Drew last night, and when I was going through his session today all I could do is smile.  I think Drew just may be a photographer one day.  He gave me a gazillion different looks, showed me every facet of his personality - and most importantly, let me know he did not like walking in tall grass.  And for those of you who have shot with me lately - you know tall grass is in the agenda.

On a separate note.  I just checked out my blog stats.  12,000 readers in the month of April.  OH MY GOSH!!!  Thanks so much.  I remember the day I started my blog.  For months, I knew that I was the only one reading it.  But I had faith people would come.  Since then, so many of my clients have started their own blogs.  I have heard many say it is therapeutic.  I have to say - it doesn't hurt!

{The Morgan Grandchildren}

I think we enlisted an entire city to go out and find us a patch of bluebonnets.  In the end, my husband Hector saved the day.  So we found the perfect location, the next challenge was the weather.  As the hour grew closer, the sky turned darker.  Any other day, the light would have been optimal, but we got a darker than normal day. As I said, at least it wasn't raining.

So now I am at home.  Rain is pounding on the windows.  I am typing quickly so I can unplug and avoid a potential power surge in our outdated 1970's home.  And I am grateful for one good patch of bluebonnets and 10 open eyes!!

{Firetruck Session - Take 2}

The boys looked like they had so much fun today out at the fire station.  The first image may be the one that makes the invite.  The second shows the way I know the boys. They were in little boy heaven sitting in the driver seat of that big ol' truck.

{Arboretum Thursday and a Senior}

Here is my first preview of the day.  I'll be back later to post more.  I went and spent the afternoon with Little Caroline.  This little one is so special to me because she belongs to my childhood friend, Emily.  Caroline turned one this week and we went to the Arboretum to capture this one year old in action.  She was really happy today and mom knew exactly how to make her laugh!

Here is an image that embodies evertyhing being a one year old is.  A little girl balancing on her toes, little specks of dirt on her feet, exploring the world on the other side of the gate. I had a great time with you all today!

Miss F*I*E*R*C*E

If you watch America's Next Top Model, you know that FIERCE is a word Tyra and the judges use often.  Kaitlyn channeled Tyra today and gave me FIERCE.  It's hard to believe she is a senior.

 

I left my last duck session at the studio.  I'll post a preview tomorrow (sorry Anji).

{Duck Party at Marie Q}

The past two mornings I have arrived at the studio to find the ducks out of their galvanized tub wandering about the studio.  They are growing up and in another two days they will be in their new home.  They have been comedic in these past days. 

The Reagan Children stopped by this morning to play with the ducks.  Big Brother was excited about the ducks but little sister was not so sure.

Then later in the day we attempted a shoot at the fire station.  One would think on a cloudy day we would be OK - but it still proved to be way to bright for the boys.  Here is the best shot I got of them today.  All the others they are squinting and covering their eyes.  Poor things.

{Stuart turns One}

This seems to be a very popular Birthday Week.  I am doing two separate birthday shoots at the Arboretum this week.  I was wishing someone a Happy Birthday just yesterday.

Stuart was very interested in the different textures around him.  He loved the soft green grass and feeling the mulch in his hands.  He was much more interested in exploring.

I found a very pretty spot at the arboretum that was not so floral, but more classic and serene.

{New Blog Slideshows}

Don't tell my husband... I bought some new software last week to show slideshows on my blog.  The geek in me thinks this is too cool!!  I hope to show some of my favorite sessions or weekly previews of my favorite images.

The first session I chose to preview belongs to a little princess.  I spent one evening with her, and she definitely got the royal treatment.  A hairdresser came to do her hair.  I went out and bought special props for her tea party out in the field.  Her mom and dad hauled a stand up mirror for us to use in the studio and spared no expense.  She had a crystal tiara and matching princess heels. {Stunning}

It is 1:35 in the morning and I just finished editing some sessions.  I should have gone to sleep hours ago.  Before I went to bed though, I had to look at this stunning little girls session that I took on Wednesday.  She is a dance student at Tammy's Dance Center in Waxahachie and her Mimi brought her in for the session.

I was so impressed with her maturity.  She has obviously practiced posing because she was like a little model for me.  I was blown away by that first image.  This was her own little pose, and no doubt she looks mature beyond her years - but WOW!! And the second is just pure sunshine.

{One Day Her Prince Will Come}

It was such a treat to photograph Princess Ellie for the day.  I had such a good time playing make believe with her.  I had the chance to go out shopping for some new props and mom and dad brought over the mirror. I considered taking the mirror out to the field with me, but since it was on loan I thought it might be SUPER bad luck if something happened to a mirror that did not belong to either one of us.

Also, I almost killed all of us driving through a stop sign. OOPS!  No more driving clients around for me.  Scared me to death - probably scared them worse.
