I got a guy who actually smiled for his senior pictures!!! Keith has star quality. When I was photographing him he reminded me of Matthew Fox - the actor from Lost (of course with curly hair though). As I went through his images tonight I thought he looked like someone totally different. Maybe it was the musical instrument, maybe it was the curly hair, maybe it was that laid back smile. But he reminded me of a famous and very talented singer/songwriter/musician. Can you guess who?

The day started out pretty gloomy and cold and as the day went on a change happened. The sun came out, it warmed up a little, people went out. I was pretty excited about shooting in the evening.
Miss Alex tuned two and I think the camera captured it perfectly. I love the shot on the bridge, it makes my heart smile!

Have you ever met one of those people who is just charmed? The sun shines different on them. The wind always blows their hair away from their face. Presley has been that way since the age of 4 or 5. Her family and I go back to my restaurant days. They remember me studying to be a doctor and I remember poor Presley with a broken jaw as a result of a Labrador running her over. She and her brother had a special place in my heart back in the days. And thanks to the Davidson Twins Christmas Card and this blog we reconnected. She is my first Senior of 2009 and what a way to start. She is the perfect combination beauty and silliness. She always has been.

Why... WHY???
My daughter is a sweet, beautiful, young 7 year old. Yes.. she is missing nearly all of her teeth at this point in her life. She may soon be wearing glasses. That "special" awkward time of her life is quickly approaching. And she is my daughter (poor thing- genetics are not on her side). No one did gawky, skinny, nerdy, and funky hair better than I did. (Wait - that kinda describes me today- take away the skinny)
So if you see her... don't you dare tell her you saw this picture on my blog . SHE WOULD KILL ME!
My daugther through my lens.....
By the way, this is the first photo I ever took in my studio. It was in my window for a couple of weeks. It now hangs over my desk. I still love it!

I think we enlisted an entire city to go out and find us a patch of bluebonnets. In the end, my husband Hector saved the day. So we found the perfect location, the next challenge was the weather. As the hour grew closer, the sky turned darker. Any other day, the light would have been optimal, but we got a darker than normal day. As I said, at least it wasn't raining.
So now I am at home. Rain is pounding on the windows. I am typing quickly so I can unplug and avoid a potential power surge in our outdated 1970's home. And I am grateful for one good patch of bluebonnets and 10 open eyes!!

Drew and I were hanging out waiting for his mom. He was laying on the gold chaise (see above) in the studio when he casually asked me if he was going to be the photo of the day. My mind processes this and thinks.... he has to me my youngest blog reader out there. That wasn't the case... it was just a coincidence. So I told him I would photograph exactly as he was for photo of the day.
We then took a few around the square... we were waiting for the sun to go down so we could go out and find the bluebonnets.
Elaine and Adam drove all the way out from Frisco for their bluebonnet pictures. When I showed them my sad sparse field they were so disappointed. I explained that I had only seen one spot with good bluebonnets and it was in front of a house that I did not have permission to shoot at. So we approached it and said we'll ask for forgiveness if we are caught. Talk about an adrenaline rush.... I am so bad and today I had accomplices.
So are you wondering why I titled this entry celebrity? Remember, I'm the small town photographer whose first destination wedding was Southlake, Tx. This is as close to celebrity as I have gotten. Adam played football for the NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons. Google him and you'll see he has the NFL shield on one of his molars... he showed it to me today. Thanks for making the drive all the way out to my small hometown of Waxahachie. I had fun with the three of you today!

Not really... but it feels like it should be smoking as hard as I have made it work the past two days. Besides a senior session last night and a trip to the studio today to drop off some things I have been glued to a chair and editing my wedding pictures.
I came across this one today. My husband is starting to look like the real thing! The transformations is beginning. Pretty soon he'll be able to swing a wedding on his own.
That is my husband Hector with Harold (my favorite lens). Still makes me nervous to see someone else with Harold.

So I almost titled this post - POSER. So how does the photographer whose tag line is "life unposed" match up with a poser??? BEAUTIFULLY. You want to know why- because admittedly, that is who she is. She had a fantastic session. We hit some new places, visited some old ones and everything was just perfection.

I met the Miller's at a Black Jack Table one late February night.... did I mention it was at St. Joseph's Church and that they won my session from a silent auction. I bet all of you pictured me in Vegas. I don't gamble for real because I always lose. But when it is just for fun and for charity I always seem to do great.
So here is an image of the kids and the family. Jay, the father, had me wondering all throughout the session whether he was kidding or being serious.
