I'm so excited... I finally got a smiling baby.  I know everyone says it is just gas... but I've always wanted a smiling baby.  It was a good way to end the year.  Photographing my favorite - a newborn.

Little Lily wanted to check out what was going on around her.  She didn't want to sleep. So I went ahead and composed a few with her eyes open.  For a newborn... she already has her mom's pretty eyes.  You can't tell in the previews.. but trust me, she does.

The Speers - Fuller Wedding

I started my day at the Clifton Residence, where I documented Ashley and the girls get ready for the big day.  The dress as you can see was beautiful with delicate bead work on the bodice and skirt.

The bride and groom wanted all the photographs taken before the ceremony, so as a photographer I decided to still capture the first time the groom set eyes on the bride in her wedding dress.   In the image below, he has just finished saying, "You look GOOD".  With a real long inflection on the GOOD.

The guys wore long jackets and cowboy hats.  The weather on Saturday prevented us from photographing outside.  The winds were cold, brutal and strong.  There was no way the girls would go out.  But I did take the guys out.  The photograph below reminds me of the movie Young Guns (I know I am probably dating myself).  I can hear someone screaming REGULATORS in that image.

And I could post so much more... but my competition was there and I don't want to give her any more ideas.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Fuller.  It was a privilege to photograph your special day!

You know.. sometimes I have the toughest job (BIG WINK).  He had the most incredible piercing blue eyes.  Though I know he and his family like black and white.... you just can not escape those eyes. 

I hope you like these better than the ones from the other photographer (we won't mention any names).

{Four Generations}

I was lucky to have four generations of this family in my studio today.  After the family has seen these, i will be sure to post this rare occurance.  Family bonds are so special.  When I listened to the two sisters interact above - I couldn't help but think of my own sister. To see the four generations in front of me was really so special and touching.  I especially loved the interaction with the great grandmother and baby.  It just really touched my heart!!

{Studio News}

The studio will be closed for the next three days so that I can go learn some new stuff!!  I'm super excited to be taking an intensive three day workshop from a nationally recognized photographer.  I'll be back in the studio on Wednesday, December 19th.  I will be arriving early to package up all those last minute orders for you to pick up.  I'll give everyone a call as soon as I am done with your orders!

I am humbled and overwhelmed by the response I have gotten over my recent sessions, my custom designed Christmas Cards, my photographs in Living Magazine, my blog and website. 

Thanks to those of you who come and read my blog religiously - my so called groupies and blog stalkers.  I've never kept it  a secret that at one time I wanted to be a writer.  The blog allows me to fulfill that desire while showcasing my true passion - photography.

Over the past weeks my husband and I have experienced a fraction of what celebrities feel - recognition, praise, gratitude, joy.  Some may say I get too personal on the blog - they may call it unprofessional.  But know that my heart is in this 125% and it is personal.  And I do invest myself in this whole heartedly.  Thank you for all the kind words.  This has been the most rewarding experience ever.

{A favorite}

Sometimes, the ones I least expect become favorites.  I wasn't crazy about it about it right out of my camera, but I played a little  - made it vintage and it changed the feel completely. This one was so out of the box - I left it out of the gallery and included it in the slideshow and interestingly.... everyone liked it. 

It's the motion of the skirt, the bounce of the curls, the bare feet.  It is simply childhood without a face. It could have been any one of us years ago. And it could be any one of our daughters today.

{I've been a bad, BAD blogger}

I took a two day break from blogging because I have been so busy getting everyone's orders placed and packaged.  I have three days worth of previews to put up, we can't leave anyone behind!!

Friday started with a mini session.  Tate and Alli stopped by dressed in their season's finest.

Later on Friday, the Howie family came in for their portraits.  We did some in studio and some at the park.  The park was GORGEOUS this weekend!! 

Then on Saturday I photographed the Watson Family.  Little Emma was a very well trained "poser".  I tried to get her running down the trail in front of me and she sensed me and my camera and turned around a struck a pose.

And finally today,I photographed the Nicholsons.  I am still in shock over this one.  Six eyeballs looking in my direction!! I love it :)

And Landon, has the greatest expression in this one. 

And this catches me up on the posting.  I don't have anything on the books tomorrow except to shoot my own personal Christmas Card Photos... I had to finish everyone else's before I could start mine!!
